This was not what he wanted to do, but his father left him no choice when he abandoned him and his three siblings. His mum could not provide for all of them, so Johnny stepped in, taking charge of his family by running this side gig to help shore up mama’s purse. However, he did promise himself, come December 1st 2020, he would put an end to his shady life style.

November 29, 2020, bracing himself for the cold winter night, he bundled up, he was ready to deliver the last batch of Heroin to his contact, and that would be his last trip. There was something about the air that night that felt creepy, but he shrugged it off thinking it was the normal nervousness that comes with each delivery. He stepped on the street curb, skipped past the rusty wire fence; he stumbled a little but found his balance. A shadowy figure emerges from the shrubs to the left of the old church building; that must be the contact person he thought to himself. He gave the signal, three claps in quick succession and one short whistle. The figure moved and responded with one tap. Johnny thought something was wrong with the response, it should have been one clap and two whistles, anyway he proceeded while wondering, and maybe his contact could not care less about procedures. This was his last night in this business, after tonight he will be a free man, he thought. Johnny approached with the drugs in his hands, and the man stepped out of the shadows, he was tall and muscular, he had a gun in his right hands, his fingers arched around the trigger ready to pull if Johnny made any false move, he is a cop. A chill ran down Johnny’s spine, oh my goodness! He muttered, why now, oh why? His eyes darted back and forth, hoping to find a way of escape but it was too late, the cop has him in clear view, any false move will result a tragic end, and all he could think of was his mother, his siblings and this question: “why doesn’t life come with an undo button.

How many times have we looked back at our actions and wondered what would have been different if we had not done what we had done or not say what we had said. The convenience of a pencil eraser or a computer undo button is so enticing, but a real life situation does not permit such luxuries. We go through life carrying the burdens of our mistakes and regrets and often times wish we could undo the past, but the past is already done, it cannot be un-done. So should we continue to wallow in self-pity and regrets? No! The ability to forge ahead irrespective of our past mistakes is the mark of a true hero. As no one is perfect, no one is free from errors, we all at some point will trip over this obstacle. However, be rest assured that you are not alone, because someday, sometime, somehow, somewhere, everyone will experience situations that will cause them to look back with regret and wish things were different. However, you must not be tempted to dwell in these thoughts, you must keep on moving. Those experiences you went through had a purpose, and that purpose was to clarify your ideas and plans. The past was therefore useful, it showed you what worked and what doesn't, it showed you what is wrong and what is right. So do not beat yourself up for your past mistakes, it is time to move on. Let go your past and embrace your present moment with the mindset of newness. This is a new moment, a new moment with a renewed personality, a new moment with a clean slate where there is no judgment.

Listen, you ought to be proud of yourself, you ought to be proud that you are a survivor; you ought to be proud that despite all you have been through, you are still strong. Some people could not go through this, yet you did, yes! You ought to be proud that even though you feel humiliation from past errors, you are still standing, you still have life, and another opportunity to try once again. You have a second chance to make up for your past mistakes. There is no shame in this, no one is above mistakes. So, hold your head up high; wear your scars of pain and shame with pride because they are signs of a veteran who has learned a lesson or two and is ready to continue with the fight. You could be a victim of rape, or some unlawful incarceration, or some false accusation, your experience is real and painful, but you must take your power back by asserting your Divine purpose, you are not a victim but a purposeful individual determined to succeed in your choice path. Your painful experiences laid a foundation for the resilient person that you are today, so do not look back at your past, its insignificant compared to your destination.

Do not listen to what people may say or pay attention to the negative thoughts in your head. You are the best in the things you do and no one is ever going to take that from you. Hold your head up high, tell yourself time and again that you are the best that can ever be, tell yourself that you can make it even if all hell break loose, tell yourself that you can succeed under any adverse condition, because you are born a winner. You are a child of the Divine and you are here to accomplish your divine purpose.

As early as I can remember, I have always pondered the reason for my existence. The thought first occurred to me when I was about 9 years old. At that time, my immediate elder brother, Henry, had just died and the concept of death confounded me. The explanation my parents provided for his death were not satisfactory. You see, Henry was not just a sibling, he was my playmate, my best friend, and I loved him dearly. Therefore, when my parents said God took him to heaven because God needed him did not make any sense. In my young mind I reasoned, there are over a billion people on the planet from which God can make his choice pick, why my brother? That was the beginning of my philosophical inquiry.

The concept of God and human origin has been a topic of discuss among philosophers for many centuries. In fact, many ancient texts such as the Bible, the Koran, the Talmud, the Sanskrit, point to the idea that we originate from God, and if we originate from God, we will definitely return to God at the end of our lives. Other texts specify that God lives and dwell within us, in other words, our existence is just an extension of the Divine mind. Whether we originate from God or God dwell in us, that divine connection exists because our existence is not separate from the infinite spirit. Now before you roll your eyes and sigh… “Oh here we go again with another new age crap”, please hear me out.

Various documents point to the fact that when you deprive a man from meaningfully employment, they seek a vent for expression. Nobody likes it when denied opportunity to give expression to his or her idea or thought; in fact, many companies are born from such conflicts. If we go by what we see in nature, we know that everything that originates with nature are in profusion, the sky, the sea, the sand, plants, and animals, everything in nature is looking for ways to expand and express themselves more. There is an evolutionary drive propelling expansion. So also are humans, there is no one without an idea or some sort of plan on how to be creative, or to better themselves or the world around them. We may refer to these pushes as desires or aspirations, yet the whole idea bothers on expansion and going beyond your immediate self and environment. With each push or desire comes an expression (expression means putting your creativity to work). Whatever goal or desire we may have, does not end with us, it will eventually cascade down to the rest of the universe. If you become a scientist, your study will benefit the whole world, same goes for an artist, a musician, or a schoolteacher. Everything has ripple effect, just as the rainfalls, it waters the ground and crops grow so that animal life can thrive, animals engage in various activities thus boosting the ecosystem, we are all co-creating, bringing ideas into life, both humans and non-humans. Therefore, we notice the law of circulation at work, each category-giving rise to the other, yet each one has specific purposes they serve themselves.

Now you may ask what does this have to do with human purpose or the reason for our existence. The divine mind is the one power that transcends and permeates all things; plants and animals alike, we all are vehicles of divine expression, we are channels through which the divine essence gives expression, and foster growth on the planet, in other words the purpose of our existence is to be channels through which the divine mind expresses itself. All things are calibrated for growth and expansion, it is therefore impossible to be a failure on this planet. Our existence is deliberate and purposeful and being creative is not just a gift rather it is our nature.

Man has identified this force and has given it several names such as God, Allah, Divine mind or the absolute etc. but it is the same consciousness that is in all things. Your thoughts or ideas, originate from this source, all things are inter connected, the universe and all that is in it and none of these things exists for their own purposes, everything is giving expression based on its personal desire, however those personal desire cascades as benefit to everything in existence. This is how I concluded that our existence is for divine creative expression, or simply put - We are here for God.
Kc O'kerry Productions | Music Promotions | Motivational Speaker | Gospel artist | Musician | Authortag:kcokerry.com,2005:Post/70159002022-07-15T18:27:21-06:002022-07-15T18:29:53-06:00THE BLANK CHEQUE

Nobody is born with a label of poverty, failure, or misfortune. We chose our paths as we mature into adulthood. If you took interest in medicine you became a doctor, if you love the arts you became a musician or an artist, if you are interested in business, you become an entrepreneur, and if you have no interest in anything at all, then you become nothing. Wherever your career choice lead, so you become. However, something is significant here, we make these choices ourselves, and by so doing, we decided the fate of our future. In other words, we decide the direction our lives goes, it was not fate or some sort of destiny, or a power outside our control. We decided what we want and that is what we become. We came into this planet with a blank cheque and we filled in exactly what we wanted. We sealed the fate of our future by the choices we make every day. The universe is abundant in supply of everything we can ever imagine or need, and we, like royalties, are born into this massive wealth, to live the best life we can imagine. So the question is “are you living your best life”?

Humans are full of excuses, if given the chance, anyone can explain away the reason for his or her failure, but in reality, are we telling the truth? Claiming victim-hood is familiar with most people, we tell stories that generate empathy so people would not blame us or look down on us for our failures. A classic example is situated by the pool of Bethesda in the gospel of John 5 verse 8.

In this ancient little town of Bethesda, there was a pool. They believe an angel stirs the pool occasionally, and whoever gets into the pool first is healed of his or her diseases. By this poolside lived a cripple. He has a narrative that says he has been by the poolside for 38 years, waiting for his chance to jump in and get his healing but every time he attempts to do so, someone gets ahead of him. This crippled man literally lives by the poolside all these 38 long years, yet he found a convincing narrative that suited his situation. He blamed other people, it was their fault he never was healed. This is typical of victim mentality; it is always other people’s fault. Does that sound familiar? What story are you telling about your circumstance, what are your excuses?

In Luke chapter 5 verse 17, we see a contrasting story. Once again, Jesus was preaching, and there was a huge crowd, the people were so many there was no way anyone could get through. In that crowd were a couple of guys who brought their crippled friend so Jesus can heal him. They attempted getting this friend through the crowd but it was impossible. Therefore, they went up the roof, took out a couple of roofing sheets and ceiling, and lowered the crippled man through the roof. This is pure determination at work. Can you see the difference between the two stories? Now if the first cripple were in this last scenario, he would have said, “Common guys, this is impossible, let’s get out of here; no one can go through this crowd, besides we could be charged with breaking and entry if we go through the roof”. You see what I mean. A man's mind set determines the outcome of his or her circumstance.

We all have blank cheques issued us by the Divine when we were born, a cheque that spelled limitless potentials and abundance at our disposal. That the earth and the fullness thereof are for our unlimited enjoyment, yet many people live below the poverty line. What story are you telling yourself and those around you? What are your favourite excuse that justifies your lack and limitation?

Some people actually are having a hard time due to no fault of theirs but in spite of their adverse condition, they still thrive. Your circumstance and situation does not limit your potential, you can thrive in spite of whatever condition you find yourself. Like I always say, “circumstance don’t define who you are, it’s who you are that define your circumstance” who knows, your situation may be the reason you showed up on this planet, because in solving you challenge, many would benefit from your knowledge and experience. Many people attribute their successes story to difficulties they overcame, so claiming victim-hood is no longer a tenable excuse. However if you are willing to transform your life, you can use your challenges as pivot for growth, and just like the plant that grows throw the crack in the concrete, you can push yourself through barriers and impossible situations. I just want to remind you today that you can thrive in spite of your adverse condition.

In the Holy Quran we read in al-Baqarah 2: 269: “Whoever is granted wisdom has indeed been granted abundant wealth”

Oftentimes wisdom is perceived to be a gift endowed only to a select few, but it is not. Wisdom is both intuitive and interactive. Intuitive because there are some insights we have that did not originate with our perceptions, at other times they are based on the information we already have . However, having wisdom is crucial to human survival and excellence.

I would want to classify wisdom as spiritual, because it is not objective or tangible and if spiritual then it must be Divine. Just as we read in the Quran, having the wisdom of the divine is indeed abundant wealth, for with the knowledge of the Divine you can be, do, or have anything.

So, wouldn’t it be easier, if we let go our struggles in life and surrender to divine guidance? I know it's very difficult to trust what you don’t understand, but sometimes it’s okay to take steps in the dark, and in this case, your steps are guided by the infinite”. Know that a force that is higher than human limitation is working on your behalf.
Kc O'kerry Productions | Music Promotions | Motivational Speaker | Gospel artist | Musician | Authortag:kcokerry.com,2005:Post/70062792022-07-01T22:42:23-06:002022-07-01T22:45:42-06:00THERE IS POWER WITHIN YOU

Often people consider the concept of spirituality mystical; I find it amusing because we all indulge in spiritual practices every day, however, most times unconsciously. That you take some time to ponder an idea before executing it, or you meditate every morning before starting your day, or have a vision or goal for a project prior execution all emphasizes our spiritual tendencies. These are examples of actions taken beyond physical exercises or what some may call meta-physical. The term Metaphysics is not a mystical term, it actually originated with Aristotle, and it refers to the section of his book that came after Physics.

A deliberate nurture of your spirituality has multiple benefits. First, it makes you aware of a greater support that is available whenever and wherever you need it. There are moments in our lives that we are overwhelmed with events and circumstances beyond our control, for example being diagnosed with a terminal disease or dragged unjustly before a judge in a court of law by some powerful politician. These are few examples of hopeless situations, but I have also witnessed what can be classified as miracle because those who were involved in these instances got helped mysteriously through their trust in the Divine only. Therefore, the need to foster our spiritual growth is a necessity we cannot ignore. We don't have to struggle through life because we already have this wonderful connection with the Divine, and through its intervention we navigate easily through life's difficult terrains.

Many people have turned away from religion and spirituality. There are many factors responsible for this, but the biggest culprit is the religious institutions. Many of them have proven to be unreliable, especially with recent discoveries of atrocities violating human rights, people want to keep their distances. However, abandoning your spiritual development because of some religious institution’s malpractice is like throwing away the baby and the bath water. Being religious and being spiritual are not the same; you can be spiritual without being religious. Though joining a religious group does help in building your spiritual muscles, you do not necessarily have to be religious in order to develop your spirituality. Being spiritual is something you do or develop outside your religious routine. It is putting into practice all that you have learned from your religious and spiritual inquests - in other words, it is a personal journey.

Sometimes we forget who we really are; we forget the great battles we have won. When little trouble or some adverse condition appear in our lives, we scuttle for cover, forgetting we are great warriors and heroes. We must realize that no matter what happens in our lives, everything will eventually right itself, nothing is very awful, terrible or lasts forever. Therefore, be calm and stay resolute when going through difficult times.

We all have had challenges at some point in our lives and we overcame them. Remember those times and let that be your inspiration. There is always good in the midst of every bad situation... if only you look closer. Just as the oyster makes beautiful pearls out of an irritation inside its shell, so also your current challenge might be an irritation preparing you for your next big level in life. So hang in there, because you are at the precinct of a new dawn.

This thought is not some fancy philosophical concept, rather it is a fact that I have personally experienced repeatedly. When the writers of the scriptures said, “Be anxious for nothing” they spoke from a resounding understanding that good will always come out of any challenging experience.

Though certain circumstances may seem hopeless, helpless and unjust, for instance the death of a loved one or a terrible accidents or some bad health concern such as cancer or divorce. We may never understand why these things happen, but we must never allow them to overwhelm us, we must move on with a positive attitude. Every cloudy day eventually clears out to reveal a beautiful sunny day, so also your challenge is not supposed to drown you, it will eventually ease out after a while. Therefore, remain strong, be steadfast, and stay calm, it will be over...soon.

If anyone asks of you anything, money, physical item or a service, give. Never hesitate, deny, or hold back. Even if it is a little you can afford, just give. Never complain or explain why you cannot. Your refusal to give does you more harm than good. If you can afford to give, do not deny yourself the opportunity of this wonderful experience. Give, because in giving, you are letting go the thoughts of lack or a consciousness of not-enough-ness.

Giving down play the overwhelming thought of your personal needs, and put you in a positive state of mind and a feeling of abundance. Feeling is a key factor in determining your success or failure in life. Your feeling determines your mood, your mood affects your action, and your actions shape the way you live. When you give in spite of your needs, you are saying to your situation that you are in control, that your current negative financial circumstance or emotional state has no power over you. At the same time, in giving you are embracing the power behind all things created. In other words, you are saying to your situation that I am not limited by my circumstances; I have more than enough even to meet the needs of those around me. Michael Ruse, one of the greatest Philosophers of our time wrote, “The only truly happy person is the person giving to others” (Ruse Michael (2019), A meaning of life, New York, USA: Oxford University Press).

On the metaphysical side, the need to give arose because the infinite needed you to expand your space because he has more stuff in store for you but you have no space to accommodate them, therefore you need to declutter, create space by giving to others.

Giving affirms the law of circulation. We are in a universe that thrives in the law of circulation. The ocean flows into the rivers and the river into the stream and the stream goes back to the ocean. Also the fertile ground nourishes a tree which then bear fruits and the fruits matures and falls to the ground and nourishes the ground and the circle goes on and on. So also is our giving, whatever we give is never a loss rather it comes back in multiple harvests.

Never deny the opportunity to give because in refusing to give, you are denying yourself of personal growth as well as restricting the power of the infinite manifesting prosperity in your life. Do not acknowledge lack or any financial limitation, if a need to give arises, be at the forefront, participate, and be nonresistant. Giving could be financial, or a service to others or even a kind word such as “Thank you”, “I love you, Good morning, Hi” they are all gifts that will yield harvest in multiple ways. Giving is both a command and a principle; it is wise to participate in this universal law.
Kc O'kerry Productions | Music Promotions | Motivational Speaker | Gospel artist | Musician | Authortag:kcokerry.com,2005:Post/69865202022-06-03T22:18:00-06:002022-06-03T22:21:02-06:00LIVE IN THE NOW

In the scriptures, we read " Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" This statement took on a different meaning after I understood the concept of now-ness. That eye have not seen nor ear heard is quite literal but the next sentence says “neither have entered into the heart of man" in other words, in this very moment, this second that have just emerged, what I am becoming is yet to be conceptualized by anyone or anything. No one has ever seen or has any inclination of what I will become in the next new moments that are emerging. I am constantly evolving into an incomprehensible newness. In other words, I am mysterious.

WE are advised by sages to live in the now, because in the present now, it contains nothing of the past or the future. There are no issues pending, only a now that has never existed and this now continually birth a new now every second. To live in the present moment, means emerging into a timeline, and holding the consciousness of a fresh start, a new beginning.

Many people are stuck in the past. Their past memories hunt them, this is understandable, but the question is of what purpose are those memories, how are they serving you? Do not look back at your past; the past has no significance, only your present moment does. Those experiences you went through had a purpose, and that purpose was to help clarify your current experiences. The past was therefore useful and you can use it to build the present. Yes, you may have mess up in time past. Yes, you made some terrible mistakes. Yes, you did some shameful stuffs you now regret. However, that was in the past, it is gone.

Do not worry about your future either because the things you fear may not be there when the time comes. Live in the now, be present in this very new moment. This moment has never existed before, and it holds no record of your past or the fears of the future, it only contains a brand-new you that is born into this brand new timeline. You emerge into this new space in time with a fresh personality; this is your new moment without judgment or record of your past.

Let no one remind you of who you were. Remind yourself of who you are now, and in this now moment, you are perfect. So live your best life now.

I watched a teenage child move out of the family home the other day; she said she was old enough to fend for herself. I laughed, because it reminded me of my own experience when I moved out of my parents’ home as a teenager. At that time, I felt I was man enough to run my affairs but not very long after I moved out, I crashed as if a pack of cards and realized life was not as I thought.

Many times, we make decisions we think are best for us, and not in one moment considering the overall consequence, which may affect our entire family and future. We think in isolation without grasping the whole picture and understanding that we are all linked in this giant golden chain of humankind, that the hurried decisions we make today are the pitfalls of our tomorrow.

Most times, in avoiding responsibilities, we develop concepts that circumvent acceptance of the consequences of our actions. We may choose to blame fate, God, or some other universal concepts, but the stark reality remains that we are responsible for our actions and our actions today shape our tomorrow.

Blaming God for our misfortune is almost natural with most people; after all, God cannot speak for himself. However, is God responsible for those silly mistakes we deliberately make? For instance if we really work hard and eventually succeeded in our quests either in education, business or some career pursuits, should we say God made it possible as opposed to the lazy man who refused to develop himself and spend days binging on sitcoms and movies? At what point should we say God is responsible for our circumstance.

I think we choose our path in life by the actions we take. Not going to school means you have chosen an alternative path in life, which may or may not lead you to success. To be hard working define you as positioning yourself for success; to be diligent and self-directed says a lot about your intention of making a successful path in life. All these choices has nothing to do with God, they are personal choices, so if you end up doing well in life, that means you made choices that served you well.

What about those who have implemented the above-mentioned factors, yet failed in life, how would you explain that? I do not know. It is just like asking why an innocent child has a terminal disease. I think it has to do with our soul path. We choose paths that take us through particular route that leads to our soul’s growth.

Have you ever had a bad experience and you just could not fathom why. However, on hindsight you realize those experiences were pivotal to your current success story. Some experiences we go through open us up for growth. They could be painful and sometimes catastrophic, but at the long run, they serve a good purpose. We may not have consciously chosen these paths but on the subconscious level we did, we desired them because they are necessary for the evolution of our soul.

There are no favorites with God, You do not bribe God with gifts or offering to make him change his mind or make him do what he is not willing to do. Our thoughts and desire for good align with his desires and good intentions for us, just as he reminds us in Jeremiah 29 verse 11 that “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (NIV). However, we must understand that we have a role to play, for God does not use idle hands, rather people who are willing and ready to be his arms and feet. Therefore, whatever choices you make today, define the future you will either enjoy or regret. So choose wisely.
Kc O'kerry Productions | Music Promotions | Motivational Speaker | Gospel artist | Musician | Authortag:kcokerry.com,2005:Post/69757132022-05-20T06:06:49-06:002022-05-20T06:26:18-06:00WOMEN...WE LOVE AND ADORE YOU
A dedication to the women in our lives.

I am sure most of us celebrated mother’s day two Sundays ago. While it is an annual ceremony, for some people it is just one of those days of celebration akin to Valentine’s Day or worker’s day. However, for some of us, it is an occasion that reminds us of that special someone who has left a big impression in our life.

Often what comes to mind when we hear “Mother’s day” is biological motherhood, which of course is the literal definition, but I believe it should be beyond that. Biological mothers are important, carrying pregnancy for nine months and nurturing the baby until adulthood is no small feat, however, there are people who are not our biological mothers yet they stand behind us in our weakest moments. They provide shoulders to cry on when our world is crumbling. They celebrate with us with genuine intentions when we achieve milestones in our lives. They check on us to see how we were doing, and they do not hold their tongue when there is need to tell us plain truths that exposes our vulnerability. I am talking about these real Mothers.

I have such women in my life, women who stood by me through difficult times and happy moments. I am not ashamed to admit that women played a significant role in my life’s success story. They nudged and guided me every step of the way; honestly, I would never had made any head way in life without their unflinching support.

For instance, graduating fresh from school and struggling to find my feet as a young art director in advertising, I found support from my first boss, Julia Oku. Her counsel saw me through many difficult challenges as a young executive. Everyone who has worked with Julia knows and feels that deep nurturing warmth that exudes from her personality, and because she truly cares, everyone who has been with her cannot help but fall in lock step with her motherly strides.

Like I said earlier, restraining the definition of mother’s day only to biological mothers has limitation. Biologically a child cannot be older than his or her mother, however, an adult can be Mothered by a younger person. I found this to be true with my voice coach, Mallory Chipman. I met Mallory at a time I just wanted to prove to myself that I was not as terrible a singer as I have been told. On several occasions, I was told to forget singing because “they said I have a bad voice”. This was the case until I met Mallory. When she listened to me she said “who told you, you can’t sing” I said many people, in fact the previous week, I was rejected at the church choir audition. Well, the rest is now history as I have released 4 singles and my full album is coming in December this year, thanks to Mallory Chipman, a vocal power house and musician extraordinaire ( https://www.mallorychipmanmusic.com ).

Growing up as a kid, my senior Sister adopted me just for the fun of it; she has always been there through many hard times. Sometimes we fight, and when she is upset with me, it hurts like hell. I learnt my first lesson on love from her, that “Those who love you most, hurt you most” It’s not that they intentionally hurt you, but for the fact that you know they love you, you hold them in high expectation and little disappointments from them hurt very much.

Finally my biological mother. She was a giver, a selfless non-restraining giver. Until her last moment, she put her children’s need first. Though she died 23 years ago, I cannot help but wonder why she was so selfless. Are all biological mothers like that?

I must say women have been influential in my life; they were genuine friends, mothers, lovers, and pillars of support. While I cannot mention all the names of women who have affected my life for lack of space and time, this is to let you all know that your labour of love has not gone unnoticed.

To every woman on the face of the earth who is caring and loving someone, know that we appreciate you and I stand on behalf of the rest of the world to say we recognise your labour of love. Moreover, while it is okay to scream “Happy mother’s day! “at the top of our lungs, what we really mean to say is “WOMEN, WE LOVE YOU !! ”.
Kc O'kerry Productions | Music Promotions | Motivational Speaker | Gospel artist | Musician | Authortag:kcokerry.com,2005:Post/68732242022-01-18T18:26:18-07:002022-01-18T18:26:18-07:00A PURPOSEFUL LIFE
When we have nothing to live for, our lives become a burden to ourselves as well as to others. However, everyone has something to live for; our dreams and aspirations, our creative ideas and expressions, our loved ones, all represent some reasons to hang on a little longer. When we neglect or refuse to pursue our passion, dreams, and goals, we lose interest in life, our enthusiasm for living gradually fade away.

Therefore, there must be a connection between our passion and the reason for our existence? A connection between our purpose and a commitment to fulfil that purpose, a commitment to nurture ourselves, our children, and be fully engage in service to humanity. All these things add meaning to our existence. In the absence of the above mentioned, we have nothing else to live for, suddenly our lives become a burden, and we are frustrated.

So be engaged in the things you really love to do because that is why we are here.

She’s 5 foot 2, she is as beautiful as she can be, a woman that causes men to stop and stare, a beauty so amazing it renders men speechless, a woman every man would want to have for a wife, a natural beauty, full bodied … but she thinks she’s fat. She’s become a statistic of the self-hating women labeled “plus size.” Her confidence has long been eroded, now she lives in fear of a nonexistent fact promoted by ambitious salesmen and product manufacturers. Every time she looks in the mirror, she’s overwhelmed; it’s like a knife cutting deep into an open wound. When she sees fashion models on TV and in magazines, she’s constantly reminded of her weight and size; but in reality, is she really fat? In real life, fashion models don’t come close to what we see on television and in those glossy magazines. Often, pictures are edited; hip bones, collar bones, and ribs are all cleverly refined with Photoshop to make the women look more elegant!

In Linda Lewis Alexander’s book, New Dimensions in Women’s Health (2007), females account for 90% of the estimated eight million sufferers of eating disorders. Every 62 minutes at least one person dies as a direct result of an eating disorder. This is because many women want to attain that perfect body! A perfection that is not realistic! There is no such thing as a perfect body – tall, short, fat or thin, black, white or yellow – you are beautiful just the way you are! Beauty comes from within, it is a consciousness. The world will tell you who you are but it’s only you who can define who you really are.

Now is the time to live and be who you really want to be. Your beauty lies in your knowing, appreciating, acknowledging, and celebrating your true self; you are beautiful just the way you are. In this moment, you have this great body as a gift. You’ve got to appreciate what you have! Your beauty consciousness has nothing to do with money, it has nothing to do with your career or position or your ability to wearing popular brands, it’s in the realization of who you really are in the now! Your glory is in your knowing you are perfection made real. Even the Bible said “you are fearfully and wonderfully made.” Your beauty is immeasurable and indescribable. Sisters, you’ve got everything going for you: your looks, the way you walk, the way you talk. You are graceful when you saunter down the street in the evening sun, the guys can’t help but slow down their cars, take off their sun shades, just to catch a glimpse of your curves and your backside drumming rhythmically to your footsteps, oh, I tell you … woman … you are beautiful...

I see you wasting away, hesitating, getting involved in things you should not be involved in. Are you living that perfect life, the life you’ve always dreamed of? I know you like nobody else does, I see your skills and talents. You are resilient and intelligent, you always have a new perspective and unique

ideas, you are the epitome of thinking outside the box. People who misjudge you don’t have any idea about who you really are, you are a creative genius. You are different, your ideas are different, your mindset is different, that is what makes you unique. If you persevere in your lateral thinking, if you pursue your unique ideas, if you dare to do things differently, the world will be at your feet.

Don’t take criticism to heart. It is easier to criticize than to create. The uneducated mind finds it easy to criticize. You are a person with a purpose, a being with a specific plan to fulfil, a mission, and the one who sent you has your back. Can a man be sent to light a fire without a match, can you catch a fish from the river without a pair of hands, and can you see the world without your eyes. My friend, he who sent you will not leave you stranded; everything you need to succeed has already been provided. So be confident, do that which you have been sent to do. Your skills and talents are your tools, your passion and desires are your mandates, so go forth and shine, because you are destined to win. Do not listen to naysayers; shut your eyes and ears to errant thoughts and negative ideas. Focus on your plans until they crystallize. If in the heat of the moment your mind falters and your dreams become blurry, take a moment and bow your head and talk to the one who sent you. I promise, He will surely lead you to the light, and everything will turn out right.

Don’t look back at your past; the past has no significance with your present moment. Those experiences you went through had a purpose, and that purpose was to clarify your ideas and plans. The past was therefore useful and you can use it to build the present. Yes, you did mess up in time past. Yes, you did make some mistakes. Yes, you did some shameful stuff. But that was in the past. This is a new moment, a new moment with a renewed personality, a new moment where everything is brand new. You ought to be proud that you are a survivor; you ought to be proud that you won some of the battles you fought. You ought to be proud that even though you were humiliated by past mistakes, you are still standing, you still have life, and you have another opportunity. You have a second chance to make up for your past errors. So, hold your head up high; wear your scars with pride because they are the signs of a veteran, scars are the signs of a great fighter, a warrior and a hero.

Your past experiences laid a foundation for the resilient man that you are today. So, don't listen to what people may say or to the negative thoughts in your head. You are the best in the things you do; hold your head up high, tell yourself time and again that you are the best that can ever be, tell yourself that you can make it, tell yourself that you can succeed.

Focus on the things you want to achieve, never let your goals depart from your sight. Hang on to that dream, that idea, that vision. It will take time, but in a short time it will manifest. Tough times never last; only tough people do, so hang in there and remind yourself time and time again that:

If anyone is ever going to succeed, it’s got to be you.

If anyone is ever going to make it through these hard times, it’s got to be you.

If anyone is ever going to walk through this dark lonely night safely, it’s got to be you.

Don’t forget who you are, you are not just another human. You are an emanation of the divine; for you, nothing is impossible. If your heart feels faint and your dreams begin to falter, turn within to seek guidance from the one who sent you; he lives and dwells within you, he has begun a good work in you and he will perfect it. He will see you through to the end. The battle is not yours, it is his, the one who sent you. Though the world is full of trials and tribulations, he reassured you that you will overcome. So, walk in this confidence, talk in this confidence, think in this confidence, because he will never leave you, nor will he forsake you.

It had just three words: "how are you". These words broke my heart, not in a sad way but it pulled me into an emotional moment where I felt love as I had not felt for a very long time - pure, unfiltered, and welcoming. This little child touched my heart in an overwhelmingly beautiful way. She did not ask for any gifts or favours but just these kind words enquiring about my well-being.

This experience prompted me to take a closer look at the words. They are a string of three words and each of them had three letters. They seem plain and ordinary but they convey strong emotions. To say, "How are you" is not just an ordinary inquiry, they are words that transmutes into love, care, and concern. They heal ailing hearts, reassure love, and promise support. Hearing the words shows that you are not alone in your struggle, and that someone, somewhere is with you at heart. The moment you hear these words, you will be forced to stop in your track, and evaluate your situation, whether you are having a negative thought or having a bad day or going through a terrible moment, it does not matter, They are powerful enough to soothe, comfort and heal your heart instantly.

Now I have learned to use them on myself consciously. Sometimes in the middle of work, I would stop and ask myself ' how are you doing today, Kc', though it feels weird when I speak to myself like that but the benefit of my secret therapy is worth more than the stares of wondering eyes. These words are so powerful that they rein my thoughts back to reality and center me in the Now-ness of the moment.

Next time you write or say these words, pause, think about them before using them because they are more than just ordinary words. That is why I am asking you right now, my friend… How are you doing today?

Marie Corelli, in her book, A Romance of Two Worlds, wrote: "It is useless for you to consider the reason for this, or the meaning of that. Take things as they come in due order: one circumstance explains the other, and everything is always for the best."

Many times we break down and cry, blaming people, circumstances, and situations for our misfortunes, but our unfolding lies in the agitations resulting from our problems and challenges. Ask the oyster how she makes such beautiful pearls as she contends with irritating sands in her shell, or listen to the butterfly as she recounts her frightening ordeal in the dark chambers of her cocoon prior to her colourful emergence. People admire beauty, success, and achievements, forgetting there was a period of gestation, a period of silence, a period of loneliness and isolation.

With every mountain comes a valley, before a rise there is always a base, for a new life to emerge, there must be a dark period of conception. So, embrace your transition with equanimity, because the discomfort you feel in this moment cannot be compared to the greatness lying ahead.

I know you are going through a harrowing experience and I am in no way undermining your pain, but I am assuring you that this challenge, this pain, this frustration lays the stepping stones to the best part of your life. There is no better time than this moment; there is no better future, no better opportunity. This is a new moment; this challenge marks your new beginning, your unfolding, your emergence … your best life starts now.

Sometimes it feels like life has put us in boxes − boxes of lack and limitation, boxes of suffering and pain, boxes of poverty and frustration. You never chose these predicaments, it is not your desire to be poor or to have a terminal illness or to be subjected to discomfort, therefore you have an option; you have the option to choose a better life, you have the option to define what you really want to be. So, hold your head up high and exercise your divine potential; turn within and tap into the infinite spirit, and through God’s wisdom, knowledge, and power you will achieve all your dreams, goals, and aspirations.

I know this to be true because I have been through this journey; I have experienced suffering, I have been through pain, I know what it is to be poor, I know hunger and privation. But through these experiences, through my challenges, through my pains, I found the source of my strength. I found the great “I am” that dwells within me, I found a way to meet my challenges. You’ve got to understand that with suffering comes a transformation that leads to an evolution that reveals the divine person that lives and dwells within you. The Apostle Paul corroborated this thought in Romans 5:3- 5; he wrote, “we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience, and experience hope: and hope maketh not ashamed.” We are not ashamed of this hope because it is a guaranteed hope, a hope that has substance, a hope that has promise, a hope that speaks of better things for now and in the future.

So, let your heart not be troubled, my friend; be bold, be strong, have faith in the divine and in yourself. Trust the infinite spirit or the divine mind or Allah or God or whatever names you may choose to call the Absolute. It doesn’t matter what you call it, it’s one and the same God; he lives and dwells within you,

and his ultimate purpose is to see you succeed, flourish, and excel. In the Holy Scriptures the infinite declared that he will never leave you nor forsake you. The Divine mind is faithful to his promises and I am certain he will not let you down, because what he has done for one he can do for another; he did it for me, he can do it for you too.

The google definition of the term is spot on, it says, "it is the fact or state of being unified or whole, though comprised of two or more parts". I first came across the term in my research into New Thought philosophy. Whilst there are various theological interpretations of the word, we will stick with the google definition with particular reference to human consciousness, that all humanity is one irrespective of race, colour, gender, or nationality; that we originate from one consciousness.

I often use the analogy of water to describe the concept of one-ness. Assuming I go to a stream and fetch some water in a glass cup, the content in my glass is a small fraction of the body of water at the stream, but it is still a part of that big body of water. Same analogy applies to humans, that even though we tend to individualize our idea or ourselves, we all partake of one consciousness. We may think in isolation or execute our ideas in isolation but underlying our isolated thoughts or idea is the inter-connectedness with this one giant consciousness. Man is made to co-exist with one another, no particular individual or race was created to function in isolation, all humans originate from the same pool of consciousness, therefore are co-joined, tied together, bonded in thoughts, ideas, and consciousness .

In recent times, I noticed the successes of some new musical artists. Data has shown that collaboration is the way to go for emerging artists; this method is observed to be the fastest method for growing audiences with musical interests. However, this concept is not new because in medicine, the sharing of medicinal cure among doctors, countries, and races has been in practice for centuries; this has resulted in eliminating diseases and other illnesses.

This brings me to the core of my message that irrespective of race, colour, or nationality, all humans shares one consciousness. No one is more important than the other, neither any one inferior nor superior. Several human ideas have emphasized individuality or superiority of one race or nation over another, but that is poor thinking, because at the core of every human being is an essence that is limitless, unrestricted and unbounded. Any man, woman or nation can be, do or have anything. We have seen the rise and fall of empires and great nations, at the peak of their dominance, they claimed superiority and power over other nations, but after a while, their reign ended. The question is if they were that good or perfect, why did it end? This is something we ought to contemplate.

There is so much foolishness in human intention of proving superiority over another because what one person or nation does not have at the moment, will have eventually at other times, the consciousness that brought an idea to one person or a nation at one time is also available to other nations or people. The consciousness in a white man is same for the black man or woman, same for the Asian or aboriginal people. There are no differences between all humans we all have the same consciousness.

To exemplify this idea further, when we leave the comfort zones of our locality we naturally bond well. I have seen white South Africans in other parts of the world embracing their Black African brothers, but back home that love is not there. In Nigeria also, The Hausas, Ibos, and Yoruba’s hardly agree on political viewpoints but a very strong bond exists among Nigerians in Diaspora, they care for one another irrespective of the differences disrupting their homeland. In addition, if you permit me to hypothesize that, if all humans are move to a different planet where alien population out number humans; humans will definitely bond strongly and the differences in skin colour, language, and nationality will be obliterated. The reason for the bond is deeply entrenched in our consciousness; we all originate from the same source, we are born of same mind, same consciousness.

Let us therefore lay aside every perceived difference and embrace the one-ness from which we all originate, let us encourage love, harmony, and acceptance. All humans are born equal, just because certain circumstance has given advantage to a particular group over the others does not necessarily make the unfortunate inferior and the fortunate superior.

We all should learn from the china experience. For many years, other parts of the world made fun of china; cheap products were associated with china, but today china is a world leader in its own rights. I implore all people, all races, all nations to embrace the one-ness that is the base of our human consciousness, let us with reverence respect the opportunity and privileges given us and share with nations and people that are disadvantaged because in sharing we are expressing our divine purpose, sharing engender love and harmony. The infinite is not divided therefore we who are his subjects should not be.

When the faithful’s pray: thy kingdom come, it is referring to the human race bringing into existence the divine intention. Our purpose of existence is to bring into fruition the ideas of the divine mind and these ideas are entrenched in our consciousness. When we show love, respect and in harmony with one another, we are expressing our very true nature, which de-emphasizes the differences between us.

I knew she was disappointed about my reaction but she does not know who I am or where I am coming from.

I was fortunate enough to have experienced some financial fortunes in the early part of my life as an advertising practitioner and two things were apparent during this period. First, I found that despite all the money I had, I was not happy, there was a vacuum in my life that I could not explain. Secondly, I noticed my passion for writing songs and motivational messages was not diminished rather it got stronger, in other words, what I really wanted to do with my life-superseded acquisition of wealth.

I have heard people say, “If you do not like money you must be a liar”, this may sound true for those who have never experienced wealth, but if you have, you will think different. Don’t get me wrong, having lots of money is good, in fact money helps you to pursue and achieve your life goals but the pursuit of money itself as a goal or purpose or reason for living is worthless. Money is not an end itself rather it is a means to an end. What do I mean, if for instance your New Year resolution is to achieve one million dollars by March 2022, and truly by March you achieve that goal, the question is, what are you going to do next? Yes, you have your one million dollars in the bank, but just having it does not serve any purpose. It is when you use the money towards a set goal that it becomes useful. Therefore, a purpose supersedes the pursuit of wealth.

Everyone at the very core of his or her being have a desire to do something or become something. Most times this desire did not just happen in a momentary flash, rather it has been in your heart since childhood, you have nurtured this dream over the years, hoping some day when the circumstances are right, you will bring your dream to fruition. However, as we already know, dreams do not just manifest, between a dream and its manifestation, we face what we call “reality”. There are bills to pay and mouths for feed etc. Therefore, we pick a career or a job that would give us some income while waiting for our dreams to manifest. Unfortunately, this is where most dreams are abandoned, either the temporary career we chose became financially rewarding, that we forgot our dreams, or we are deeply engrossed in a job that is keeping us very busy but with less time to pursue what we really want to do or become.

A new year has just begun; this is just a reminder to return to that, which is the essence of your existence. I know so many people have written resolutions and have plans already laid out. However considered first, your life purpose, because no matter what you achieve, your true happiness lies in doing that which you really loved and want to do or become. Pause and consider the direction you are heading and realign yourself with your divine purpose? We are not here for ourselves, if we are, we would have been satisfied with pursuits of money, power, and wealth. The billionaire wants more money and the politicians are constantly seeking more powered, the circle will never end.

Today, I have found peace with myself. I am very contented with everything that I have, I cherish my present comfort to the wealth I previously had and the joy of pursuing the things that I love to do most, this is the greatest gift life has offered me. Would you want to consider this way of living in your New Year resolution?

Dreams, they say, are the wings of the mind, we can fly any time. We have been endowed with abilities to be

the best that we can be. Therefore, nothing is impossible when we set our mind to any endeavor.

The limitations we experience in life are only a reflection of our negative perceptions; when we change our negative perceptions, our good will be manifest. What I mean by this is that we are more than who or what we think we are.

Our suffering, and the delays in achieving our dreams, goals, aspirations, are due to a misunderstanding of our infinite potential. For we all are perfection encapsulated in the divine mind waiting to unravel. Everything necessary for our success is already encoded within us; however, the access code lies in our understanding of our oneness with the Infinite. Charles Haanel, in his book, The Master Key System, put it this way: we must be, before we can do, and we can do, only to the extent of what we are, and what we are depends on what we think.

The perception of who we really are is what determines to what extent we succeed in life. It is up to us, therefore, to wake up to the reality of our true selves. For we are not just mere mortals, but divinity in manifestation, we carry infinite potential within us; we have infinite strength and wisdom. And, as we read in the scriptures, “as he is, so are we in this world,” we are one with the infinite. Therefore, all things are subject to us, no matter what condition we find ourselves in, no matter what circumstances encompass us, no matter what situation befalls us. We can transcend all, knowing that with God, “all things are possible.” And ye are gods.”

Circumstances can compel us to forget our innate qualities, but we all have supernatural powers. Otherwise, how can you explain intuition? Where do ideas come from? Who can unravel the mystery behind courage? We all have limitless potential; this is the reason we need to look within to find that divine mind, that higher self, that infinite soul.

Until we make the decision to search and find our true selves, unless we connect ourselves to our divine nature, we will suffer for a very long time. And, as the scripture reminds us, “Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most high. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.” In other words, our ignorance will impede our success; it will derail our plans and trump our aspirations.

So, I implore you, my friends, to rouse the God consciousness within you; see yourself as a victor, a winner, a champion. Push aside those thoughts that belittle you and take a stand among the greats in history.

It is time to rise up and connect with that source that powers your existence, it is time to live up to your full potential, it is time to exhibit those innate qualities with which you have been endowed. Oh, common man, put your fear and doubt behind and face your future with confidence, knowing that you cannot fail, because that which powers your existence is the same that created the universe. When you understand and acknowledge that the infinite lives and dwells within you, tell me, who or what can hold you back? Is it hunger or pain, is it sorrow or sickness, is it poverty or death? No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him that loves us5 and that dwells within us.
